All three stages of the matte box are protected when the filter guard is engaged. When you’re operating on a crane or in a high-paced situation, you can be at ease knowing that the trays won’t accidentally fall through.
When you need to disengage the guard, the spring-loaded catcher can be rotated down without having to completely remove the bracket.
